Paulo Saldiva
Role: Researcher investigating how exposure to ambient levels of air pollution accelerates the senescence of different organs and systems
Research interest: Systemic effects of urban air pollution
Location: São Paulo, Brazil
I like to address topics within a multidiscipinary perspective, somewhat unfocused but very enthusiastic about the understanding of urban biology. I am a physician and pulmonary pathologist by training, working in air pollution and health since mid 1980’s. I have some experience in air pollution research, using animal, epidemiological and autopsy studies.
What I like about my work is that it is challenging, inspirational. integrative and necessary.
The consortium will foster collaboration with different groups and will create the possibility of learning with each other.
