LUMIar

This infographic shows you how we conduct experiments to prove that pollution harms our kidneys. We use a special device, made by USP and funded by @fapesp, called the Continuous Air Pollution Exposure Cabinets (CECAP). CECAP simulates the daily exposure to air pollution in São Paulo. We compare the effects of polluted air and clean air using CECAP and measure air quality with a mobile lab called LUMIar. The PMKidney consortium focuses on the effects of pollution on kidney disease, but CECAP can also study other diseases caused by constant exposure to polluted air.
